Exclusive Ballooning
Exclusive Ballooning has brought mainstream hot air ballooning into the heart of London over recent years with balloons at Buckingham Palace, the Tate Modern, the Guildhall, Exchange Square and famously flying underneath Tower Bridge for Disney in 2009. Chief pilot Andrew Holly was bestowed the Freedom of the City for his work within marketing and fund raising with hot air balloons – using them to help clients raise over millions of pounds for various charities.
“Since the inception of the company, we have used all resources available to us in order to help our clients raise money for charity. This has lead to a figure in excess of £7,000,000 and rising. We set up the regatta in support of the lord mayor’s charity as it was the perfect blend of London ballooning and charitable causes.”

Lord Mayor’s Appeal
“I am delighted that the Hot Air Balloon Regatta is back this year. The Lady Mayoress and I look forward to flying above London as part of this very special event. Raising funds and awareness for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal and its charity partners – MQ Mental Health Research, Homewards and National Numeracy – is important for the whole City of London. The Regatta and its corporate partners are supporting the Appeal in its aim to create an inclusive, healthy, fair and skilled city – A Better City for All. This Regatta – one of the most unique, fun and colourful events of any Mayoralty – is raising money to improve lives across the capital and beyond.”
Alderman Michael Mainelli,
The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of the City of London

The Regatta and its corporate partners are supporting the Appeal in its aim to create an inclusive, healthy, fair and skilled city – A Better City for All. This includes initiatives to promote inclusive workplaces, better understand mental health, support philanthropy and improve numeracy for everyone. Holzwerk
Holzwerk, based in the historic half-timbered town of Celle in northern Germany, is a carpentry and roofing company specialized in the preservation and restoration of half-timbered houses. Company owner Jörg Reinstorf went out into the world as a young traveling carpenter for 3 years in accordance with old craft tradition in order to gain experience in building with wood in other countries and regions. Our balloon “Alfred the carpenter” is the image of such a traditional traveling carpenter and as such is a homage to traditional German craftsmanship and to our hometown Celle.
“I lived and worked in London for a while as a young traveller and came to appreciate and love the city. I am happy to say thank you in return for the hospitality shown to me by participating in “The Lord Mayor’s Hot Air Balloon Regatta®” with our friendly, smiling carpenter.” says Jörg Reinstorf, who hopes that the weather will play along this year.
